Sarah Rosten

MA, CCC-SLP/L

Founder and CEO

Sarah, AKA “Momma Monkey,” founded Pediatric Interactions with the dream to have a greater impact on her community than she could alone. Her team of monkeys has since grown to include therapists and staff who share her passion for providing families with quality services and creating a supportive, collaborative and challenging work environment.

Sarah received her Bachelor’s degree in Speech/Language Pathology/Audiology from Augustana College and Master’s degree in Communication Disorders from Northern Illinois University. Sarah has worked in Early Intervention, an educational setting, given presentations throughout Illinois and at other state conferences, was an associate graduate professor at Elmhurst College. She is on the Early Intervention committee for Illinois Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is now on the Speech-Language Pathology Program Advisory Board at Midwestern University. Community outreach and parent education are a continued passion, as Sarah actively seeks to provide families and professionals alike with educational opportunities, presentations, and workshops regarding topics in child wellness and development. Sarah enjoys working with Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders to improve breathing, eating and speech.

As a mother of a child who was born over two months premature, Sarah was able to experience intervention "from the other side" as a parent. Her experience as a speech therapist combined with her parental insight and love of volunteering helped inspire her to co-found a non-profit organization (WeeBits), newly established non-profit toy lending library (Banana Borrowers) and creating a home at PI for a Little Free Library.

Sarah and her family have two four-legged family members at home also, Alex and Tater Tot. Besides being involved in the Grayslake community as a Director on the Chamber of Commerce, she’s involved with her church and school volunteer opportunities. She also enjoys crafting, vacationing on the beach and traveling other countries, reading, cooking and new experiences (she has a crazy side and went skydiving). She’s has expanded her passion for helping people by becoming a certified pilates instructor and founding Gorilla Gym to help her staff and families take time for themselves and their health.
