Covid-19 Update

PEDIATRIC INTERACTION TRY IS EXCITED TO WELCOME YOUR CHILDREN BACK TO THE OFFICE!

Pediatric Interactions is resuming in-clinic services and continuing to offer telepractice sessions to support our families.

Telepractice has been successful for many families for the continuation of therapy and progress for their child.  The progress has been as good as "in-person" services and allowed for more family carryover at home.  However, we understand this hasn't been an effective option for all families.

We will begin to resume in-person therapy in the clinic and continue to offer telepractice for families.

At this time, Early Intervention has not released plans/protocols for resuming home services. Live Video Visits or Consultations will continue for these families.

We are committed to continuing to provide your child with the best service. While we’ve always met the highest standard of care according to new guidelines, we’ve added additional measures and protocols to complement the ongoing effort against COVID-19. Our goal is to keep everyone safe & healthy.

Clinic Office Procedures

As an essential business and in the healthcare field, we have always had standard cleaning procedures and will be following additional recommendations from CDC and The Lake County Health Department  in taking precautions to keep everyone healthy and appreciate your support in this effort.  These procedures will be made available for all visitors at the clinic.

  • Therapists and staff will remain masked wear necessary PPE (gloves, masks).  Illinois requires individuals over the age of 2 to wear a mask.  However, we understand some children will not tolerate masks and for some therapy, it’s important to see the therapist’s mouth.  We will have plexiglass barriers and see through shields for the therapist available for these sessions.

  • Your child’s therapist will come to your car to get and return your child.  We will be utilizing up to three entrances into the clinic to transition kids in without contact with others.  We ask that parents and siblings wait in the car during the session. Materials that can not be easily sanitized have been removed from the clinic.

  • Staff will complete a daily COVID-19 assessment and have their temperature taken.  Parents will also complete this assessment and assist staff in obtaining their child’s temperature before each session.  Given these results, we reserve the right to cancel any session and reinstate services per the guidelines of the CDC.

  • Staff and families choosing to resume in-person therapy at the clinic will be required to sign a terms of agreement to receive in-person therapy at the clinic during the COVID-19 pandemic, which include agreeing to accurately complete the assessment before sessions, maintaining recommendations of the current “Phase of Recovery” (which may include social distancing/gatherings), using good hygiene in and outside of the clinic, and notifying staff of any potential exposure.

  • Staff and families who have had close contact for a prolonged period of time with an infected person will be contacted regarding possible exposure. The CDC recommends those individuals should remain at home for 10 days after last exposure. If they develop symptoms, they should remain home for at least seven days from the initial onset of the symptoms, three days without a fever (achieved without medication), and improvement in respiratory symptoms (e.g., cough, shortness of breath).
